this number keeps on calling my elderly father and hanging up. Number should be put out of service.

These phone calls are non-stop. I have told them to take my number off their data base but I am still getting them, they are a big nuisance and wish they would stop. Is there any way I could get them to stop - anyone know?

Keep getting called by this company despite being on TPS so have just logged an offical complaint with the ICO
to see if that helps .
Last straw was being called twice in 5 minutes today when ill in bed...

This number calls me a few times a week. On the occasions where they do speak, I immediately tell them that this number is not for receiving incoming calls.

Today it was a silent call. When I called back using 1471-3 I received a broken "network busy" tone, short-long-short-long beep

Same Asian caller as other complainers. Querying about car accident and compensation.
Wednesday, May 14 2014 12:09 PM
Told me I had an Accident within the last Three years thanked him for telling me as I did not know. Asked him for details so I could go to my solicitor to make a claim for me. He just kept repeating himself he eventually got the message and hung up

That same number keeps calling here and leaves silent msgs. Totally fed up. registered with TPS but that only works if they are calling from UK. Who gives out our phone numbers? They are the people that should be investigated. What other information are they selling to these people.

Lady phoned twice in two days saying that someone at my address had been involved in a minor car accident. This is not the case. On the second occasion I told the Asian lady that if she phoned me again I would notify the police she hung up.
Saturday, May 03 2014 10:24 AM
got a call and the man with an Indian accent asked me if I was MHF, said yes. he then said it was in connection with a car accident in the last 2 years. As I've not had one, I said I don't have a car and had not been run over. Asked who he was. first he said Nationwide. I pressed and asked why a bank was calling me. he then said he was from the RTA. I asked what that was and he said a department. I asked-at the bank. he said no it was a government department. Didn't get a chance to quote the TSP tohim as he rang off. Dialled 1471 and the reply was "this was a marketing message"

Had a call from an asian man who asked me if I was Mrs Day then hung up.
Thursday, May 01 2014 09:39 AM
The gentleman with the Asian accent phones asking me about the car accident that I had recently (I haven't had one).
I said I didn't think I had very solid grounds for a claim; I should not really have been driving as I am a registered blind person (I am not)
He didn't seem to think that was odd at all so I passed the phone to my son's Furby and let the two of them have a chat.

Took a call from this number, but realised the initial silence meant it was automated, so when someone (male, english) spoke I gave him the silent treatment. Strangely he started shouting at me: Hello! HELLO! Then he growled loudly and hung up.

This number calls me repeatedly. Always a thick indian accent who refers to the accident I had recently. Obviously he is looking to find potential litigation clients. I always tell him to %^&"*£ off but this seems not to be a deterrent. I am signed up to the TPS, who cant really do anything if people like this ignore the law.

I received a silent call from this number today.
Monday, April 14 2014 07:00 PM
Also had that call and have done for several days running. I gave in and said I had actually had an accent. At which point was "we have information regarding your accident." I was transferred to yet another Indian speaking operator. Meanwhile when I was being transferred I had hung up. They called me back whereby I was able to get the number. I asked if you have information concerning my accident then can I be sent this in the post. After describing to them my fictitious accident whereby a plane had hit my car and crushed it after aliens had attacked a local skycrapper I continued to ask for the information that they held on me. I spent over an hour talking to them and several times asking for this information concerning what they already had on my accident they gave up and hung up. I am still unsure if I am due any compensation for my accident. lol

Rang me up offering assistance about a traffic accident "some time in the past 3 years". I hung up. He rang back and asked why I'd hung up, wouldn't transfer me to a manager, seemed indignant that I wouldn't "help" him. Utterly fuming about this and there seems to be nothing I can do. He claimed to be called Patrick.

I got called this evening. Same story, man with a mild Indian accent caliming to be a solicitor. One of us had reported a minor road accident in the last 2 years (note - we had not).
I informed the caller we were on the TPS and any future calls would be followed u pby a complaint to the regulator. I then hung before receiving any reply.

I live in Hampshire so immediately called Hampshire police on 101 who said contact Action Fraud on 0300 1232040 (www.actionfraud.police.uk) who asked that I report it to Insurance Fraud on 0800 4220421 - which I did

Yet another nuisance call from 01997978125
Wednesday, April 02 2014 11:30 AM
I received a call this afternoon from a lady with a strong Indian Accent, the conversation went as follows:

Sarah "Hello, I am calling from Claims Direct to confirm someone at your property has had an accident within the last 3 years?"
ME: "Sorry, can you confirm the name of your company please?"
Sarah "Claims Direct"
ME "and what is you name please?"
Sarah "Sarah"
ME "OK Sarah, I would like to inform you that you are calling a TPS registered number and as an unsolicited call you are breaking the law, please ensure this number is added to your "Do Not Call" list and desist from calling again".
Sarah "OK, Sorry...." hangs up

For the record - your number remains registered with the TPS forever.

A woman with a strong accent said she was calling about a minor car accident I had suffered. I have not had a car accident. I have signed up for the Telephone Preference Service, which obviously isn't working very well.

Usual thing - so have blocked the number, but not before I was very very rude

Thursday, March 27 2014 01:16 PM
Just had person on with Asian accent referring to our report of an accident. I kept asking who had said we had had an accident. He gave me the R.T.A. When I said there was no such organisation he got flustered and said Claims Direct. I asked him what they had said to him and he rang off.
Obvious phisherman!

I had this number ring me, when I said hello the guy on the other kept saying hello. I grew pretty tired of this really quick and I think the guy was trying to be clever, so I farted down the handset. Soon got shout of him.

Man with Indian accent rang about a supposed minor accident earlier in the Year, advised I had not had an accident, where did he get my number, and asked to remove me for any mailing lists. I am on TPS also but you do have to renew every 6months I believe.
These calls go beyond nuisance, and I just wonder how elderly people cope who may not be so savvy about underhand tactics employed these days to get money from us.

Same call as Michael R. After I let him go through his script I just told him he was a liar and a charlatan. Silence. I hung up! The area code for the number (01997) is a small town called Strathpeffer, in the Highlands of Scotland, but my guess is that they are not based there, but have some number diversion system in operation. However, since the calls purport come from this number, I wonder how they manage to get a 'not in service' message played out if you call them back. Overall, another fine example of the failure of the Telephone Preference Service!

Same thing. Thick Indian accent, fake company purporting to be following up on car accident. Referred to Department of Vehicle Accidents in Manchester. Got very angry when I repeatedly asked for his name and he hung up. 1471 gave the number which was "not in use"

Call from this number today. Man claimed that according to his report someone at our address had been involved in a minor car accident. I didn't give him the chance to continue as this info was false. He continued to read from his script and I put the phone down on him.

Same for me as well. Phone rang, was answered but no one on the other end of the line. Will remember not to bother answering when/if I see this number appearing on the handset again.

The phone rang and when I picked it up there was silence, just as Mrs Griffiths above, said.

This phone number rang my home and there was silence when I answered. We have been previously broken into and had similarly funny phone calls. So when I tried 1471 and this number came up, I tried it and a voice broke in "this number is no longer in use".

How can this be if it rang me.
